About Me

My name is Cassandra.  I have loved fashion my entire life, but I've also been presented with several style challenges.  I'm short (4'9"), extra curvy, and have small but wide feet.  I'm pretty much the Anti-Fashion Model.  :-)

This site is dedicated to all women who love fashion but are generally overlooked by the mainstream industry.

I work a "regular" job with a more conservative dress code.  I continually look for ways to have fun with my style in a way that also still looks professional.

My fashion sense tends to be classic with a twist.  I love structured blazers and neutrals, but I am continually inspired by vintage fashion from the 20s through the 70s, as well as pieces that have a modern, edgy vibe.

Whatever your personal style, I hope that you will enjoy the site's featured fashion, tips for where to shop, and style philosophy.

I also hope you feel inspired to get into the discussion.  Let's dish!!

    1. Glad you found me!! It's always nice to see clothes on body types that are more like our own. More inspirational that way, in my opinion!

    1. Thanks so much! I'm 35, and while I find my style changing a bit as I get older, I don't believe in rules about being "too old" to dress a certain way. I especially think that there isn't much difference between "appropriate" style for women of different ages once you get past about 35-40, so I don't think wearing what you wore at 39 at the age of 49 is necessarily a bad thing! Our proportions are probably similar, so hopefully, my blog would be helpful in coming up with some outfit ideas or in some of my fit/tailoring tips. I'd love to offer some more specific help. Feel free to follow up via e-mail or Facebook with any specific questions!

I know of a few blogs with women of similar build, and I also know of a few with women who are 40+, but not too many featuring curvy petite women over the age of 40. You might like Wardrobe Oxygen (http://www.wardrobeoxygen.com). Alison has a great blog with a ton of advice.

  8. I just found you via pinterest and am looking forward to following you. I'm just under 5'4" and a size 22 or 2x. I struggle to find clothes that fit my petite curvy frame without looking like I'm wearing a paper bag. I'm hoping to get some tips and venture out a little more in my style choices.

    1. Sorry it took me so long to respond this! It is certainly a challenge to find clothes that fit. Unfortunately, since so few companies offer petite plus sizes, tailoring is really key!

  9. I am so happy to have found your blog on a facebook post on the Curvy Fashionista on Petite Plus Size Fashion! At one point, I really believe I was stuck wearing jeans and tshirts for the rest of my life. I can't wait to view all the style tips you have especially on dresses!! Being 4'10 and curvy all over with very large legs, you have given me fashion hope! Thank you.
