Sweet Romance

The first time I styled my polka dot dress from eShakti for the blog, I wanted to create a womanly, slightly edgy feel.  Today, I decided to play up the sweetness of this dress.
Dress:  eShakti (Available here)
Bow accents on the bag, sandals, and bracelet add to the sweet romantic feel of this vintage-inspired silhouette.
Purse:  The Limited
Bracelets:  The LImited
Love the vintage-inspired feel - and my daughter makes a cameo :-)
I haven't had a chance to wear this dress out yet, but I would definitely wear this look as is for a daytime summer date.

Sandals:  Payless (old)
The low-heeled sandals are comfortable and perfect for a casual stroll.
Earrings:  The Limited
What would you wear for a daytime date with your boo?

Black for Spring: Straw and Spectacle Print

Today, I continue with my series on wearing black in the springtime.
Dress:  eShakti (Available here)
Here, a linen/cotton blend keeps the dress lightweight and easy.  Natural fabrics are a no-brainer in warm weather as they "breathe" better than synthetics.
Shoes:  Target (Similar here and here)
Straw accessories like this fedora, clutch, and wedge sandals are perfect for lounging in the sun.

The evil eye ring adds a tongue-in-cheek reference to the print of the dress.
The quirky spectacle print just has such a fun spring/summer feel!
Fedora:  Target (Available here)
Earrings:  Express
Clutch:  The Limited
Ring:  H&M
Again, eShakti gets it so right with this dress.  The print is unique, the color palette is easy, and thanks to the custom fit option, the fit is impeccable!  Also, like their other dresses, this dress has pockets!!!

I think I am slightly addicted.

Would you wear a spectacle print dress?

Feminine Monday

Hope you all had a wonderful Monday...or at least as wonderful as a Monday can be anyway!  ;-)
Dress:  The Limited (Similar here)
Jacket:  Forever 21+ (Available here)
Today, I styled last year's high-low dress with a pink draped-front blazer.  I added in feminine touches with the bow belt, and knotted satin sandals.

This probably wasn't the most professional, office-y outfit, but it was super comfortable.  I do miss the fashion freedom I experienced as a college instructor (my previous career).  I would have worn this to teach and not thought twice about it!

Belt:  The Limited (Similar here)
Sandals:  Payless
Necklace:  Target
Earrings:  The Limited (Similar here)
I do enjoy high-low dresses and find them to drape in flattering ways.  They also give you the best of both worlds - the ease of a maxi, while showing off cute shoes.

Do you like high-low dresses?
