Scarf It Up!

Sometimes, the scarf makes the outfit, and today's recent work look is certainly the case.

Scarf:  Eva Mendes for New York & Company (Available here)
Blazer:  New York & Company Petites
I can't resist a tassel, and I love the vibrant color scheme of this scarf.

I kept the rest of the outfit simple.  While I would wear this outfit as is
(and probably have), the scarf really completes the overall look.
Pants:  The Limited (Available here)
Accessories are an easy, and relatively inexpensive way, to change up an outfit and give your wardrobe more variety.
Ring:  Target

Clutch:  Target (old)
I do this a lot with jewelry, and the difference is usually more subtle.  With a large, bold scarf, I felt like I was wearing a whole new outfit!
Earrings:  The Limited

Sandals:  Payless (old)
Do you use accessories to change up your look?  What's your favorite type of accessory?
Cami:  LOFT Petites

Taste of Fall

Blouse:  New York & Company (Similar here and  here)
Blazer:  New York & Company Petites
I'm sooo ready for fall fashion, so lately, I've been incorporating more fall prints and colors into my clothing selections.
Pants:  The Limited (Similar here)
Tote:  New York & Company (Similar here)

Ring:  Earthbound Trading Company

The outfit blends a summery peachy pink with fall-ready houndstooth and burgundy heels for a fun and easy work look that has been perfect for the cool weather we have been having.

Are you a fan of houndstooth print?

Stay tuned next week for the start of two full weeks of Fall 2013 Fashion Trends!

Ruffles for Work

Ruffles were a huge trend on spring runways.  Many designers showed huge, exaggerated ruffles for a dramatic flair.

For today's look, I chose a more low-key version of this trend, pairing a ruffle-front tank with my work essentials.

Pants:  New York & Company Petites (Available here)
Blazer:  New York & Company Petites (Available
here)
This ruffle top and pink blazer are ultra-feminine and almost too frothy and sweet for me.  I paired the blouse and blazer with more masculine trousers for a look that feels more balanced.
Blouse:  LOFT Petites (Available:  here)
Quartz Necklace:  Earthbound Trading Company (Similar here)
Shoes:  Target (old)
The windowpane check on the pants adds visual interest to the outfit but remains a subtle detail that doesn't overly compete with the ruffles.

The soft ruffle top and pink color help lighten the pants up and give them a more springy feel.  These pants definitely read more fall/winter to me, and I'm looking forward to pairing these pants with a leather or tweed jacket when the weather cools back off.

Spring Fever!

Today's pics are of an outfit I wore earlier this week. I wore this digital lace print tee I recently nabbed at an amazing clearance sale at The Limited and my bright pink blazer from last spring.

Blazer:  The Limited (old)
Pants:  The Limited (Similar here)
The back of the top has a hot pink stripe down the back which gives it an unexpected surprise.
Blouse:  The Limited (Available here)
Purse:  The Limited
Shoes:  Target (old)

I love how this look is warm but still has a spring feel.  I have spring on the brain in a major way, so this week, I am very influenced by the bright, cheerful colors symbolizing the re-birth that comes with spring.

The black pants, shoes, and accessories ground the look and keeps the look from feeling too springy.  I couldn't help but add my new crystal earrings from the Prabal Gurung collection for Target.  I am in love with these!!!

Cuff:  New York & Company (old)
The pink color near one's face helps brighten the face and for me, faked a healthy glow as I was sick with yet ANOTHER virus as I was taking these pics.

I'm still sick, so no Valentine's Day plans or fashion for me today. :-(

Hope you all have a wonderful and HEALTHY Valentine's Day!!!!
