Manic Monday: Prints Charming

Today on the blog, I'm featuring two shift dresses with bold geometric prints that evoke vibes of different decades.
Dress:  LOFT Petites (Available here)
The first look features a 1920s Deco print dress in a super comfortable knit fabric that has a 60s look and feel.

I threw on a belt and added a blazer to create more structure.

Blazer:  Eloquii (Available here)
Necklace:  LOFT (Available here)
It was raining while I took these photos, so please disregard the rain drops on my clothes.  :-)

I'm looking for a chartreuse cardigan to match the print in the dress, but in the meantime, I also like the all black look.
Boots:  Target (old)
Bracelet:  NY&CO (Available here)
Belt:  Torrid
For the second look, I played with the 70s trend a bit with this plum, rust, and caramel printed dress.
Dress:  The Limited
A rust cardigan added a little warmth and a slightly unexpected autumnal color mix.
Cardigan:  LOFT (Available here)
I finished the look with a vintage purse clutch to maintain the subtle retro vibe.
Necklace:  Vintage
Earrings:  The Limited
Earrings:  Etsy
Booties:  Target
Purse:  Loeffler Randall for Target (old)
Which look do you prefer?  How do you add prints into your office looks?

Manic Monday: Work Style in Black and White

I think I've made it pretty obvious right now how much I love wearing black and white, and if you're new here, let me introduce you to the reasons why.  :-)

Such a color combination is sleek, sophisticated, and always chic.

Skirt:  Eloquii (Available here)
Jacket:  Eloquii (Available here)
While I love the combo, it can border on boring, which is why I look for more interesting or unique fabrications of my favorite basics - carwarsh pleats, windowpane plaid, layered looks, etc.

Carwash pleats are a big trend for fall, so I was super excited to find this skirt from Eloquii.  It required some alterations (and I'd love for it to be just a little shorter and slimmer fit), but so cool to find a straight from the runway style at an affordable price!

Tee:  The Limited (Similar here)
Clutch:  Target
Ring:  The Limited
Glasses:  Firmoo.com
Heels:  Chelsea & Zoe (Available at Kohl's here)
The windowpane plaid vest has zip-off sleeves, so it can be worn in multiple ways.  Such versatility!!

In addition to the vest, I paired the carwash skirt with a twist on your classic button down shirt and added royal blue heels and a red clutch.  I would throw on a basic cardigan or blazer for work and chilly fall temps.

Shirt:  Eloquii (Available here)

Ring:  Earthbound Trading Company

Clutch:  Vintage
For today's last look, I'm wearing another amazing Eloquii find - a layered look skirt, which I paired with a simple ivory camisole and boyfriend cardigan.
Skirt:  Eloquii (Available here)
Camisole and Cardigan:  LOFT (Cardigan available here)
I apologize that it was a little dark when I snapped the pics, but I was excited to share this look, which I'll be wearing to work very soon!
Boots:  Target
Satchel:  Target (Similar here)
What is your favorite color combination?

Skirt Week 2: Summer Basics

Skirt Week 2 continues today with another maxi skirt.  I styled this two ways - for an easy after-work look and for a casual Friday at work.
Skirt:  Eloquii (Available here)
A black maxi skirt, like black pants or a black pencil skirt, is a wardrobe basic.
Tee:  LOFT (Available here)
Pairing it with a white sleeveless tee, as I did in the casual look, could be a little plain and boring, but I threw on a bright printed scarf to add visual interest.  Flip flops completed the comfy look.
Scarf:  Eva Mendes for New York & Company
I wish I had tucked the top in a bit more for the photos as it looked a little better and less sloppy that way, but overall, I wore this with comfort in mind so it was great.
Sunglasses:  Calvin Klein
Ring:  Purchased at local jewelry show
Since it got chilly the evening I wore this, I threw on my black moto jacket, and it was a good choice for a casual after work dinner out with the man and kids.
Earrings:  The Limited
For work, I maintained the color palette, but added a blazer with a textured print and wore booties instead of flip flops.
Blazer:  LOFT Petites
Booties:  Target
Glasses:  Firmoo.com (Available here)
How do you make your basics a little less boring?

Black Florals

Sometimes, I just feel like wearing black.  It might be spring now, but black is a year-round option for me.
Pants:  LOFT Petites
The floral pants add a little spring life to the outfit, while the black button-down and moto jacket were an easy pairing that worked well for day and night.
Jacket:  Torrid (Available here)
Booties:  Target (Available here)
Bracelets:  Ann Taylor & The Limited
I wore the outfit to work without the jacket, but threw the jacket on as outerwear for the chilly March day.
Blouse:  The Limited (Available here)
Satchel:  The Limited
I definitely incorporate more white and softer neutrals in the spring and summer, but black will likely always be my go-to, no matter what the weather.
Do you wear black year-round?

Ruffles & Lace-Ups

So yesterday was in the low 70s...after being in the low 20s last week.  It's true what they say about St. Louis.  If you don't like the weather, stick around - it will change soon!

Pants:  The Limited Petites (Available here)
Hopefully, the warmer temps will stick around though!

With spring on my mind, I paired my ruffled peplum jacket with brights and strappy wedges.  I also cuffed my pants for a more laid-back vibe.
Jacket:  Eloquii (Available here)
Cami:  LOFT Petites
Shoes:  Sugar (Available here)

Necklace:  Shoxie.com
I love how changing up accessories and opening the jacket gives the jacket/pants combo a different feel than my previous styling of the jacket (see here).
Sunglasses:  Calvin Klein
Bracelets:  New York & Company & Ann Taylor
Ring:  The Limited

Clutch:  Target

Making small changes to an outfit can be a very effective way of expanding your wardrobe options and helping you feel like your closet is bigger than you think!
