Manic Monday: Election Season

I labeled today's post Election Season because I call this jacket my Hillary jacket.
Blazer:  Eloquii (Available here)
It certainly has a HRC vibe.  I'm not going to get into politics here...my opinions are too strong, and this probably isn't the forum for such conversations.  That said, I will say that Ms. Clinton and I do share a love of a great pantsuit!
Top:  Elle for Kohl's (Sold out on-line)
Satchel:  Express
Pants:  Eloquii (Available here)
Here, I'm pairing the nautical blazer with side stripe pants.  The slim pants and swing top create a more modern vibe, while the rope necklace plays with the nautical theme just a bit.

And, as I always say, you just can't go wrong with black and white!!!
Shoes:  New Look
Necklace and Earrings:  The Limited
Cuff:  Eloquii
Sunglasses:  Tory Burch
Are you a fan of pantsuits?

Manic Monday: Daytime Office Holiday Party

The holidays bring on many occasions to dress up, and some of these events can be challenging.  It can be difficult to decide what to wear to an office holiday party, for example.
Blouse:  Eloquii (Sold out on-line; join the waitlist here)

The culture of your workplace, including typical dress code, and whether the party is during work hours or in the evening or on a weekend can help give you clues as to what's appropriate.
Cape:  Eloquii (Available in garnet here)
Skirt:  Eloquii (Available here)
My workplace is typically business casual, and our office holiday party starts essentially at lunchtime and ends at the end of the normal work day.  Today's post is for those of you in a similar situation.  Since you must work before the party, what you wear should be office appropriate.  It should not be too loud and flashy and should be no more revealing than what you would normally wear for work.
Shoes:  (Available at Kohl's here)
Clutch:  Jason Wu for Target (old)
Furry Key Chain:  Torrid (Available in pink
here)
To make your look more festive, you could add in reds and greens, subtle sequins, and more blingy accessories.
Blouse:  Eloquii (Available here)
Necklace and Earrings:  The Limited (old)
Today's looks are both outfits that I would normally wear to work, but I added a little more and/or more shiny jewelry than normal, and I went with clutches with evening details like lace and metallic.

Rings:  Vintage and LOFT (old)
Pants:  The Limited (Available here)
Shoes:  New Look (Available at ASOS here)
I was considering the cape look for my office party this year, but a black and white dress code was requested.  Instead, I'm likely going to wear the cape blazer with a black top and add in some extra sparkle.
Necklace and Clutch:  The Limited (old)

Do you have an office holiday party to attend?  Is it a day or evening function?

Manic Monday: Leather Skirt for the Office

I love wearing faux leather all year round, but especially in the fall.  While I tend to think of leather more for daytime casual or evening looks, I also love it for work.
Skirt:  The Limited (Similar here)
Sweater:  NY&CO
A black pencil skirt in faux leather can be a great choice for office wear in the fall as long as the rest of the outfit is kept conservative.
Top:  LOFT (Available here)
For today's looks, I wore a deep burgundy swing top with two different toppers - a cropped tuxedo blazer and a tweed sweater coat.
Jacket:  Forever 21
Boots:  Sonoma life+style (Available at Kohl's here)
The cropped blazer works well with my proportions and has a lengthening effect.
Purse:  The Limited
Necklace:  LOFT (Available here)
Boots:  Fergalicious by Fergie
Glasses: Firmoo.com
The sweater coat has a slightly more laid-back feel and is super cozy.
Cuff:  The Limited
Necklace:  The Limited
I really like the different feel of both looks, and as you may be able to tell from the wrinkles in the skirt, I actually wore both outfits to work over the last month.
Which look do you prefer?  Do you wear leather, real or faux, to work?  How do you keep it professional?
