Manic Monday: Wide Legs and Long Lines

Sorry I'm a little late with Monday's post (it really was a bit of a manic Monday).  Today's post includes two recent works featuring some wearable trends for fall.
Blazer:  Eloquii
Blazer:  LOFT Petites (old)
The first fall trend is longline blazers.
Pants:  The Limited (Available here)
Longer length blazers can be a little tricky when you're petite, so I try to keep things simple underneath, sticking to fitted or more streamlined pants.
Purse:  Express
Tank:  Eloquii (Available here)
Here, I added some super comfortable olive trousers to an ivory long line blazer and black tank.
Sunglasses:  Calvin Klein
The ikat print heels tie the look together while also adding a personal touch.
Heels:  Christian Siriano for Payless
Earrings:  Torrid
Glasses:  Valentino
A major trend in pants this season are wide leg trousers, again a very wearable trend.
Pants:  The Limited (old)
Booties:  Sonoma life+style (Available at Kohl's here)
I opted for the same simple black tank and went with a plum double-breasted blazer for a pop of fall color.
Glasses:  Firmoo.com
To lighten up the look a bit, I rolled up the sleeves to reveal the white pinstripe lining and went with a black and stone clutch.
Clutch:  Target
Cuff:  New York & Company
Earrings:  New York & Company
Will you be incorporating wide leg trousers or longline blazers into your work wardrobe this season?  Any other fall trends you're excited about?

A Crop Top for Work?

Unless you work somewhere like a sports bar, crop tops are generally not acceptable work attire; however, it is possible to rock a crop top for work!
Trousers:  The Limited (old)
Top:  eloquii (Available here)
Earlier this week, I paired this gorgeous lace crop top from Eloquii with a pair of high-waisted trousers.  The sheerness of the top necessitated a bottom layer, so I chose a tucked-in cami to ensure no accidental belly baring.
Camisole:  The Limited (Available here)
A white blazer helps keep the lace from looking too evening and it also adds a contrast.

Blazer:  The Limited (old)
After work, you could simply lose the jacket for a day to night look.
Bangle: Ann Taylor (Available here)
Or, you could change it up a little further by folding the cami up into a crop top/bralette to bare a little skin.
Heels:  Target (old)
By the way, today, I"m kicking off a new series on my all-time favorite color combination - black and white, of course!

Stay tuned throughout the coming week for more monochromatic looks!

Which version of this look is your favorite?
Would you wear a crop top to work?

Neutral sophistication

Today, I paired my paperbag-waist trousers and peplum blazer with a striped shell for a look that felt a little vintage, a little modern.
High-waist paperbag trousers:  The Limited (old) (Similar here)
Peplum blazer:  The Limited (old) (Similar here)
The high-waist wide leg trousers and peplum have a 1940s feel, but with the peplum being such a major trend the last year or so, the outfit also feels very modern.
Tank:  LOFT
Earrings:  The Limited
Vintage jade ring:  gift (Similar here)
Vintage jade bracelet:  gift (Similar here)
Wide leg trousers can be tricky on curvy petite frames.  I tend to err on the side of hemming wide leg pants slightly too long to create the longest line possible.

I paired the outfit with vintage statement jewelry and a faux croc bag to finish the retro modern look.
Purse:  Express (Similar here)
Shoes:  Target (old)
Do you like pairing vintage and modern styles?

Workaday Elegance

Happy Thursday!!
Blouse:  LOFT Petites (Available here)
Blazer:  Gap (old) (Similar: here)
Today, I paired my outfit around this lace peplum top.  I added wide leg trousers and a black velvet peplum jacket for an elegant vintage-inspired look.

I kept the accessories minimal to let the shapes and textures of this outfit be the show.
