Beads and Citrine

Happy Monday, everyone!!

In the spirit of spring, bright colors continue this week. Today, I am pairing a citron faux leather jacket with neutral pieces.
Jacket:  The Limited (Available here)
Pants:  The Limited (Available in other colors here)
Earrings:  The Limited (old)
The tan silky top has pretty beading at the neckline which means you can skip a necklace. I opted to accessorize with only a pair of earrings and a turquoise ring to not overly compete with the beading.
Blouse:  The Limited (Available here)
Turquoise ring:  Target
The taupe and citron color blocked clutch completes the look.
Clutch:  The Limited (old)
Do you know those amazing photo shoots where the model's hair is blowing perfectly in the wind?

Well in my perfectly imperfect world, the wind was blowing, but my hair was going in literally EVERY direction.  I apologize for the cropped/cut pics today, but they were better than the hair!  (grumble, grumble)  ;-D

Hope you all had a great day!

  1. I notice you get a lot of pants at The Limited- is there a style of pants (drew, lexie, etc ) that you find works best on short, curvy frames?

  2. Also would like to know the same for Loft if you don't mind!

    1. Thanks for your questions, Erin. I'll try to address them, but I often think that finding the right fit involves trial and error in the fitting room since we are all shaped a little differently.

      The Limited:
I personally wear the Drew fit most often. The waistline sits lower, which works well when you have a shorter waistline/ shorter rise. Since having babies, my midsection is a little thicker, and I find that the Drew fit works the best for that body type. Having seen the Drew fit on various body types, I tend to think it's the most universally flattering and modern of The Limited's fits.

If you have a true hourglass with a smaller waist-hip ratio, the Cassidy fit may work best. They do tend to have a higher rise and fit me right at or below the belly button. I have a few pair of pants in Cassidy fit, but they can be hit or miss for me.

The Lexie fit has never worked for me. FYI: The Limited's denim has similar fits to their pants. The 678 fit is similar to the Drew fit; the 312 fit is similar to the Cassidy fit.

Lately, I've been mostly wearing the Exact Stretch handkerchief pocket skinny pants (seen above), which don't come in the various fits discussed above. I love the fit of the Exact Stretch and love the thickness and stretch of the fabric.

I have to get all my pants hemmed.

      LOFT:
I have never purchased pants from LOFT, but in looking at their pants styles, the Marisa fit seems most similar to The Limited's Drew fit.

Hope that helps, and happy pants shopping!!!
Would love to hear what works for you!
