Casual Friday: Easy Dress & Moto Jacket

Hello all!!!  I am finally back from a very unexpected and long hiatus.  If I told you all the things that have been going on lately, you probably wouldn't believe me!!  I will talk more about some of these things soon once I have a chance to fully absorb everything myself.
Jacket:  Boohoo Plus
Even though I haven't had much time for blogging, I have really missed you all - I have so much fall fashion I want to share and hope to get some more photos done soon.  Fashion this season has been really amazing, and I have found some great pieces.  In my stress, I have also done way too much shopping.  Bad things for my wallet, but cool things for my wardrobe.  Ha, ha!
Dress:  The Tiny Closet Shop
One of my favorite fall casual looks is an easy dress paired with a moto jacket and comfy booties.  This look isn't about following trends.  While I love playing with trends because they sometimes encourage me out of my box, more and more, I choose clothing based on my visceral reactions.  Do I say "ooh" or "ah" when I first see a garment?  When I try it on, does it feel good?  Is it comfortable?  Does it make me feel how I want to feel in the given moment?  I try (and often fail) to also balance those visceral reactions with an intellectual assessment of my wardrobe needs.  Does this piece serve a place in my wardrobe?  Will I wear it a lot or only on occasion?

This dress is one of those pieces that fulfills both emotional and practical needs for me.  It will definitely become a weekend warrior in my wardrobe!
Boots:  Target
Clutch:  The Limited (old)
This dress is from a small capsule collection created by blogger Natalie of The Tiny Closet.  I absolutely love her aesthetic - it's  minimalist with an artistic twist.

The Weekender dress that I am wearing here is the perfect navy color, and the v-neck and double thigh slits give this dress such a free and easy feel.
Cuff:  The Limited
Sunglasses:  Tory Burch
It is a little sheer, and I wish it was lined or in a slightly more opaque fabric, but otherwise, this dress really is perfection.  I paired it with a black slip for more coverage, but for an evening out, I would pair with a low-cut body suit to get the full effect of the dress.

Earrings:  Target
As of right now, The Tiny Closet shop only offers sizes XS-XL.  I am wearing an XL here.  Because the fit of the dress is so easy, it could likely accommodate up to a size 20/22.

The Striped Jumpsuit

I love breaking style rules, so why not break the "no white after Labor Day" rule with an amazing jumpsuit that also breaks the dumb rule that says curvy women and petites shouldn't wear horizontal stripes.
Jumpsuit:  Eloquii (Available here)
I love how this jumpsuit plays with both horizontal and vertical stripes.  It's a fun piece that can work well for both work and play.
Blazer:  The Limited (Similar here)
Heels:  Anne Michelle
Clutch:  The Limited
Speaking of playing, I really enjoy re-working pieces and styling them in my own way.  In the case of this jumpsuit, I played around with wearing the belt as a scarf which served a dual purpose of giving me a little extra cleavage coverage for work.
Glasses:  Valentino
This jumpsuit is NOT petite, so it required fairly extensive alterations.  I am really excited that ELOQUII recently launched a capsule petites collection, and I am hopeful that this is just the beginning of more petite plus options to come!  I have personally tried out a few pieces and am loving the proportions!  I will be sharing my petite favorites on the blog soon!

If you're interested in this jumpsuit or the petites collection, head over to ELOQUII.  They are having an amazing Octoberfest sale that runs through tomorrow.  This jumpsuit is currently 50% off!

Manic Monday: The Jumper Dress

School girl looks can go cliché very quickly, and I personally am not down for trying to dress like a sexualized child.
Dress:  Eloquii (Available here)
That said, borrowed-from-the-girls jumpers are a huge trend this fall.  Thankfully, this trend is more about sophisticated and streamlined dressing, and it's definitely not juvenile.
Blouse:  Who What Wear X Target (Available here)
Shoes:  New Look Wide Fit
I spotted this jumper-style dress while perusing the Eloquii site, and I instantly saw its potential for easy work style.  By pairing the jumper with a bow blouse and booties, I had a great work look that I know will get me through fall and winter.
Clutch:  ASOS
The faux fur clutch adds a fun touch to the more serious look and also gives the outfit even more of cool weather feel.
Glasses:  Valentino
Have you seen this fall's jumper trend?  What do you think?

Shop Your Closet: The Blush Trench

I don't often buy multiples of a garment, but sometimes when I really love something, I can't help myself.
Trench:  Boohoo Plus (Available here)
I love these knit trenches from Boohoo so much that I have four of them - black, olive, cranberry, and blush pink.  They aren't the highest quality clothing items in my closet, but I love the style, and the stretchy knit fabric makes them really comfortable.

This pink color is super versatile.  I've already showed the trench on the blog with an olive midi dress.  Today, I have three more options for styling this jacket.
Top:  Eloquii (Available here)
Skirt:  Smart Glamour
Clutch:  ALDO
For the first look, I wore the trench as a topper for a pretty date look.  The muted green sheer panels on the skirt look great against the blush pink.  I paired the skirt with a tie-waist crop top to show just a sliver of skin.
Shoes:  New Look Wide Fit
The skirt is a custom fit skirt I got last year from Smart Glamour.  Though I originally ordered it in a maxi length, I recently decided to have it hemmed to a midi-length skirt to change up the look.  It's now the perfect length for pairing with this trench.
Glasses:  Valentino
Ring:  Target
Rusty/pumpkin orange and blush is one of my favorite color combinations.
Dress:  Who What Wear x Target
Booties:  dv x Target (Available here)
Camel fringe booties coordinate with the colors and add to a subtle Southwestern/desert feel in the look.
Glasses:  Coach
Ring:  The Limited
For the last look, I went casual pairing skinny jeans with a simple tee and fringe booties.
Jeans:  Torrid (Available here)
Tee:  LOFT
Clutch:  Asos
Boots:  dv x Target (Available here)
A faux fur clutch completed the look.
Sunglasses:  Tory Burch
