Wild Card Wednesday: Casual Neutrals

Last week, I featured a sheer lace dress that's perfect for a night out, but for this week's Wild Card Wednesday, I'm taking things in a more casual direction.
Sweatshirt:  Eloquii
I've paired boyfriend crops with neutrals for a soft and easy look.  The weather is starting to turn chillier, so this sweatshirt layered over a button down top was a great choice for a casual dinner with the family.
Jeans:  Torrid (Similar here and here)
Earrings and Ring:  The Limited
Booties:  Target
The embellishments on the shoulder and the overlapping hem give this sweatshirt a little more style and interest than your typical grey sweatshirt.
Glasses:  Firmoo.com
Button-down shirt:  The Limited
I am not a big denim person, but I do love the laid-back feel of this look and the oversized fit of the sweatshirt.  Comfy and cozy - my favorite cool weather words!

What does your version of fall casual look like?

Manic Monday: The Simplest Workwear Formula

It's Monday...that means back to work for many of us.  For many of us, it's also a return to those mornings of "I have nothing to wear..."

While I definitely have some of those mornings, I try to have a few regular go-to options that make it easier for me to get out of the house on time and with style.
Jacket:  eShakti
Skirt:  New York & Company (Available in green here)
One of my favorite, and also one of the easiest, work go-tos is to mix black basics (you could substitute navy or another neutral if you prefer) - skirts, dresses, camis, and pants - with a jacket in a fab color.  I had two such looks planned for today, but unfortunately, I worked late and didn't get snaps of the second look.

The formula is an easy one, so today's look will hopefully give you some ideas for incorporating it into your own work wardrobe.
Camisole:  LOFT Petites
Clutch:  Target
With today's outfit, I went with a deep forest green moto jacket to add my pop of color to my neutral basics.  This color is a perfect fall shade of green, and the weight of this jacket is equally perfect for fall weather.
Booties:  Sonoma life+style (Available at Kohl's here)
While I typically reserve moto jackets for my off-duty style, the wool fabric makes this one feel a little more professional.
I paired the moto jacket with a knit pencil skirt, cami, and booties for a super easy, super comfortable look.

Add in a few of your favorite accessories, and you're good to go!!

Pendant: Antiquarian Couture (See more here)
Bracelet:  The Limited

Imitation Game: Simply Cyn

I hope you have been enjoying my new regular Manic Monday and Wild Card Wednesday features.  Saturdays are now the day to catch Imitation Game - a regular feature in which I showcase looks inspired by other bloggers and celebs.
Culottes:  eShakti
Today's look was inspired by Cynthia of Simply Cyn
Jacket:  Gap
There's not much I don't love about her fresh style, but I'm often drawn to Cynthia's use of color.  Today's inspired look features a gorgeous color combo of hot orange and blush.
Photo on left c/o Cynthia of Simply Cyn, from Happy Monday: Orange is the New Black
I have worn these colors together on the blog before, but Cynthia's recent look reminded me how much I loved this color combo.
Color and Confidence:  ORANGE
Camisole:  LOFT
Booties:  Target
While not a literal interpretation, Cynthia's drapey dress was echoed in the drapey fit of the culottes.
Necklaces:  Forever 21 and The Limited
I substituted a blush clutch for Cynthia's wedges and added gold and camel accents to pull the look together.
Clutch and Ring:  The Limited
Glasses:  Valentino
Are you familiar with Cynthia's blog?  Do you like pairing orange and blush?

Wild Card Wednesday: Leather & Lace

It's Huuuuuump Day, folks!
Dress:  Chubby Cartwheels (Not currently available; see more here)
That means it's time for Wild Card Wednesday, and today, I'm featuring my black lace maxi dress.
Jacket:  Torrid
Sunglasses:  Calvin Klein
Shoes:  Target
Bracelet:  LOFT
While I love the idea of layering it with slips in various colors, I decided to take my dress a more daring direction today.
A moto jacket, worn traditionally or slung over the shoulders, adds a touch of warmth to stave off the autumnal chill (It's fall!  Color me excited!).
I added a cute rotary phone clutch to complete the look.
Clutch:  Torrid (Available here)
How would you style this dress?

Manic Monday: Wide Legs and Long Lines

Sorry I'm a little late with Monday's post (it really was a bit of a manic Monday).  Today's post includes two recent works featuring some wearable trends for fall.
Blazer:  Eloquii
Blazer:  LOFT Petites (old)
The first fall trend is longline blazers.
Pants:  The Limited (Available here)
Longer length blazers can be a little tricky when you're petite, so I try to keep things simple underneath, sticking to fitted or more streamlined pants.
Purse:  Express
Tank:  Eloquii (Available here)
Here, I added some super comfortable olive trousers to an ivory long line blazer and black tank.
Sunglasses:  Calvin Klein
The ikat print heels tie the look together while also adding a personal touch.
Heels:  Christian Siriano for Payless
Earrings:  Torrid
Glasses:  Valentino
A major trend in pants this season are wide leg trousers, again a very wearable trend.
Pants:  The Limited (old)
Booties:  Sonoma life+style (Available at Kohl's here)
I opted for the same simple black tank and went with a plum double-breasted blazer for a pop of fall color.
Glasses:  Firmoo.com
To lighten up the look a bit, I rolled up the sleeves to reveal the white pinstripe lining and went with a black and stone clutch.
Clutch:  Target
Cuff:  New York & Company
Earrings:  New York & Company
Will you be incorporating wide leg trousers or longline blazers into your work wardrobe this season?  Any other fall trends you're excited about?
