Black for Spring: Straw and Spectacle Print

Today, I continue with my series on wearing black in the springtime.
Dress:  eShakti (Available here)
Here, a linen/cotton blend keeps the dress lightweight and easy.  Natural fabrics are a no-brainer in warm weather as they "breathe" better than synthetics.
Shoes:  Target (Similar here and here)
Straw accessories like this fedora, clutch, and wedge sandals are perfect for lounging in the sun.

The evil eye ring adds a tongue-in-cheek reference to the print of the dress.
The quirky spectacle print just has such a fun spring/summer feel!
Fedora:  Target (Available here)
Earrings:  Express
Clutch:  The Limited
Ring:  H&M
Again, eShakti gets it so right with this dress.  The print is unique, the color palette is easy, and thanks to the custom fit option, the fit is impeccable!  Also, like their other dresses, this dress has pockets!!!

I think I am slightly addicted.

Would you wear a spectacle print dress?

If I wore it this way, I'd definitely rock this look. Very nice and I love the accessories!

  4. OMG that print is awesome and I love the style of the dress with short sleeves, the pleats and they have pockets! I think you styled the outfit great, such a perfect summer outfit. I love the straw fedora too, I have been wanting one but I have a big head so I haven't found one that fits me right.

  5. I love how you styled the two prints together! I really wanted that skirt but it didn't fit me well for some reason and they didn't carry the next size up. But I think it looks great on you and the prints really work together. I think your bangles really match great with the top.

  6. Thanks Nina! The skirt ran very small. I normally wear a size 12 and had to size up to a 16. Even with that, I would have preferred the waist a little looser to sit lower on the hips a bit. The reviews on Target's web site seemed to echo the same problems.

  7. Thanks Nina! The customization options are so amazing! I actually went with the sleeves and length as featured and changed the neckline to the wide v-neck.

I have a big head too, and this one from Target fit me. They have several straw fedoras in stock now, so they may have something that would work.

  10. Artistic and colorful outfit here. This one is anything but boring. Very nice sandals to go with this outfit. There's a lot going on, but not too much to destroy any sort of balance. So this is a very cool outfit of yours.

  11. After seeing this outfit earlier today, I had to chime in and say this is a lovely dress paired with some cute wedge espadrilles. Adding to the cuteness- or coolness- is that fedora hat. Very cool outfit. I love this one!
