Manic Monday: The White Blazer

I love white jackets as an alternative to my black blazers.
Blazer:  Eloquii
A longline blazer looks great with a dress that is almost the same length.  I added tights for a little more coverage and added warmth and texture.
Tunic and Belt:  Torrid
Tights:  The Limited
Boots:  Fergie by Fergalicious
I'm such a big fan of wearing black and white, but I usually opt for a softer ivory as I find it more flattering than true white.
Bracelet:  Ann Taylor
Satchel:  Target
Blouse:  Torrid
Clutch:  The Limited
Since this blazer is long, and I'm short, I make sure to stick to skinny or very streamlined pants and jeans as this creates a longer line.
Pants:  The Limited (Available here)
Shoes:  Target
For work last week, I decided to try something a little different (for me) and go for a chambray button down top under the blazer.  A sparkly necklace added a little fun to this buttoned up look.
Necklace:  LOFT
Earring:  Torrid
Glasses:  Valentino

Soft Separates

Today's look features a spring-ready work look.
Pants:  The Limited (Available here)
Blouse:  The Limited (Sold out on-line; may be available in stores)
I paired navy trousers with a mint crochet top and ivory herringbone blazer.
Blazer:  The Limited (old) (Similar here)
I love the softness of the colors of the top and jacket and the crisp contrast with the navy.  Mint is one of my favorite colors and paired with ivory, reminds me of the beach for some reason.
Earrings:  Hand-made
.The crochet and herringbone print add visual interest, but the overall shapes and cuts of this these pieces are very office-appropriate.
Ring:  Purchased at local jewelry show
Tote:  Target (old)
Do you like mint green?  What is your work dress code?

Work that Dress

Today, I chose my black dress and ivory tie-waist blazer.
Dress:  Target (Similar here)
Blazer: The Limited (old)
Tights:  The Limited
Boots:  Payless
Something about this outfit makes me feel very powerful, like I could take on the world.  To me, it's the perfect look for a board meeting, an office presentation, or for any event in which you'd like to project confidence and competence.

It's easy in its color palette and fit, which gives it a sophisticated edge.
Satchel:  The Limited (Sold out on-line)
Necklace:  eBay (Similar here)
Jade ring:  Vintage (gift) (Similar here)
Bracelet:  Vintage (gift) (Similar here)
The howlite beaded collar necklace looks a little bit like bones or animal teeth, adding a bit of fierceness to the look.

The printed tights add a little bit of a personal touch.
This is my version of power dressing!

Fun with Geometrics

Hope you all had a great day!

Today, I'm pairing a fun geometric print top with neutral work pieces.  The navy and ivory color palette is a softer take on the classic black and white, but provides the same graphic contrast.

Blouse:  The Limited (Currently sold out on-line; Available in stores)
Pants:  The Limited (Available here)
Blazer:  The Limited
Heels:  Target (Available here)
I paired the look with gold jewelry and a red clutch for a pop of color.
Clutch: Vintage
Bracelets:  World Market, The Limited
Lately, I've been really into the idea of mixing patterns and textures.  The mix on this look is subtle (herringbone blazer with the printed top), but I'm planning on mixing prints in the same color palette often this spring.  It's a fun way to add visual interest to a look.

Circles and Lines

Happy Thursday, everyone!

Today, I chose my favorite monochromatic color palette and mixed textures and prints to keep the look interesting.
Coated denim jeans:  Target (Available here)
Blazer:  The Limited (Similar here)
Tank:  The Limited
Satchel:  The Limited (Available here)
Scarf:  The Limited
Earrings:  Express
The herringbone blazer and stripes in the scarf play off of the circles on the scarf and polkadots on the blouse.

The quilted satchel and striped bangle adds more texture and subtle print to the look.
Bangles:  Target

Falling for Camel

One of my favorite autumnal color palettes is camel and ivory.  It's sophisticated and rich looking, but what I love most is the softness of the two colors together.  In a season of burgundy, navy, and forest green, camel and ivory are fall's pastels.
Camel pants:  The Limited (Available here)
Purse:  The Limited
So, today, I paired camel pants that I recently purchased with ivory favorites - a sequined blouson-style top and blazer.
Blazer:  The Limited
Ring:  H&M (Available in stores

The orange bag adds a pop of fall color.

Crazy for Cobalt

 Hi everyone!

This morning was another one of those mornings in which I had no idea what I wanted to wear.

This is what I came up with in my mad dash to get out the door.

Blazer:  The Limited (For different look with blazer, see here)
Dresses are a great option for looking chic and put-together with ease.
Dress:  New York & Company (Similar: here)
Tote:  The Limited (See here - no longer available)
Cobalt blue is huge for fall, so I'm looking forward to styling this dress for fall when the temperature drops.
Bracelets:  The Limited, Target
Today, I added softer neutrals and a pops of bright yellow to keep the look more summery.
Belt:  The Limited
Ring: H&M (For close-up, see here)
Shoes:  Target

Animal Attraction

I'm a sucker for classy animal prints.  Unlike other prints, I never get tired of them.  The neutral shades go with just about anything, and they add a fun pop that make your basics anything but boring.

This is what I wore to work today.  My go-to work uniform consists of pants + blazer + heels + cute top + fun accessories.  It's a basic formula but one with infinite style possibilities.
