Casual Formula

I love oversized robes and kimono-style jackets.  Working in an office, I don't have the chance to wear them a lot, so I've tended to stay away from buying them.
Jacket:  Target (Available here)
This one just seemed to be super versatile.  I like the longer length, and I immediately imagined this one with both denim and silky shorts for casual and dressier occasions.  Throwing on jeans with it, as I did today, was an easy option.  And, I think this will make a fantastic swimsuit cover-up come summertime.

Jeans:  Torrid (Available here)
Tee:  LOFT (Available here)
Shoes:  Kohl's (Available here)
I wore this outfit with a black top to work for last week's casual Friday.  Since I work in an office, this is more casual than I normally would wear to work, even on a casual day, but sometimes you just have a lazy day where you feel like being super comfortable.  Also, I couldn't wait to break in my new jacket!!

Yesterday, I decided to throw it back on with a white tee for a casual dinner with the family.  This formula is so simple:  jeans + tee + completer piece.  If you're ever at a loss for what to wear for a casual situation, this is a safe bet.

I realized that I haven't featured a denim look on the blog since December.  I'm really not much of a jeans person, but I didn't realize it had been that long!

Denim Week 2: Don't Be a Crybaby!

I finish out Denim Week 2 with another casual denim look.
T-shirt:  Torrid (Available here)
Jeans:  Torrid (Available here)
So far, I've only worn this sweater in work and evening looks, but the causal laid-back vibe of this cozy cardigan makes it perfect for weekend wear as well.

I fell in love with this tee at first sight as I grew up watching John Waters films and "Cry Baby" was one of my favorites.

Sweater:  Target
Boots:  Fergalicious by Fergie (Available here)
Bracelets:  The Limited; Target
I apologize for the wrinkles in my shirt. I was playing dress-up this weekend and didn't notice them until after taking photos.  :-)

Also, after seeing the black jeans and tee in natural lighting, I realized the blacks were more off quite a bit.  I would wear this look again with my blue jeans instead.  I'm not super insistent that my blacks match, but this combination is a little more off than I'd like.
Earrings:  The Limited
Clutch:  The Limited (Available here)
Do you insist on matching blacks?  Are you a fan of John Waters movies?

12 Days of Holiday: Candy Cane Casual

Happy Holidays!

Jeans:  Torrid (Available here)
Scarf:  The Limited (old) (Similar here)
Today's casual look is a holiday-inspired outfit I wore this past weekend to an ornament exchange party.  The party was casual, but I wanted an outfit that felt a little bit festive.
Blazer:  Torrid
I started with this red and white striped scarf that always reminds me of candy canes and added a black and white striped blazer for a fun mixed striped effect.
Camisole:  LOFT (Available here)
Boots:  Fergalicious by Fergie (Available here)
Purse:  Target (Available in navy here)
Bracelets:  The Limited
Earrings:  The Limited (old)
The green purse adds to the holiday color theme.
