Getting Comfortable in PinkBlush Boutique + A $50 Giveaway!!

Not too long ago, I was contacted on Instagram by PinkBlush Boutique, a women's online boutique that offers straight and plus size clothing for women, including maternity wear in both size ranges!
Tunic:  c/o PinkBlush Boutique (Available here)
The aesthetic is casual and relaxed with a bohemian flair.  Think swingy, relaxed tunics, jeans, drapey sweaters, yoga pants, and cute dresses for women.  I am always in search of fun and trendy boutiques online as I do at least 90% of my shopping on the Internet, so I was happy to find PinkBlush as an option for easygoing casual wear.
Booties:  Target (old)
After perusing the site, I found a couple pieces that I liked - the first was this embroidered navy polka dot tunic.  I went with a 1X (my normal size) in this piece, and as you can see it's plenty roomy.  I probably could have sized down.
Earrings:  Express (old)
Belt:  The Limited
As a petite, I'm always trying to minimize alterations, and tunics double well as dresses for those of us who are petite. No alterations needed!  This tunic is fully lined, so no slip was necessary either.
Clutch:  Ann Taylor (Similar here)
Since the tunic was a little oversized, I added a belt to create a somewhat dressier, more streamlined look.  I finished the look with a cobalt blue clutch and beige booties.

To keep things ultra casual, I would wear the tunic loose and go with a large tote.

Tote:  New York & Company
Bracelets:  Target
In addition to the tunic, I also initially tried this stretch blazer in navy.  The jacket seemed like it ran small, so I ordered it in a 2X.  Unfortunately, the jacket was still too small and didn't fit well in the bust or waist area.

PinkBlush was gracious enough to let me return the blazer and pick out another item.  I chose the ivory and black striped waterfall cardigan, and I'm sort of in love with this piece!

Cardigan:  c/o Pink Blush (Sold out in ivory - join the waitlist here; Available in mocha here)
Lately, I've been opting for softer sweaters and have put a greater emphasis on comfort in my wardrobe.   This cardigan definitely helps fulfill these desires for comfort at both work or home!

Last week, I wore the cardigan to work with black skinny pants and a simple camisole and received a ton of compliments.  Bonus, I was über-comfy!
Bralette and tap shorts:  Torrid (Bralette Available here)
Over the weekend, it was time to relax!  I lounged around in my PinkBlush cardi with some reads - my favorite book is The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran.  I have read it several times and always get something new and inspiring from it.

Glasses:  Valentino
Glasses:  Coach

Maxi Dresses for Spring, Part Two

Did you catch this morning's post on maxi dresses for spring?  If not, you can catch up here.  Now, I've got a round-up of spring maxi dresses for your shopping pleasure!

It can sometimes be hard to find maxi dresses that allow you to wear a regular bra.  This one, in red or black, with a sexy side split, is casual perfection.  It's available in sizes 12-20.
Boohoo.com Layla Side Split Slinky Maxi Dress
Eshakti has really been hitting it out of the park this past year.  The crisscross detail on the straps gives this maxi dress a lot of visual interest.  I would dress this one up with a bold cuff bracelet or dress it down with flat sandals.  This dress is available in sizes 0-36W or custom fit.
eShakti Crisscross Strap Crepe Maxi Dress
This ruffled number from H&M is pretty in pink. Available in sizes 14-24.
H&M+ Long Dress
Land's End offers straight and plus sizes AND petite and tall lengths.  This maxi is available in three print options and sizes 0-26W (petite sizes available in sizes XXS-XL).  This floral print is just perfect for spring!
Land's End Sleeveless Maxi Dress
Have you checked out the Milly line for Kohl's?  This dolman sleeve maxi dress is available in sizes XXS-XL and in this fun print or sapphire.

This maxi dress from Eloquii in versatile scuba fabric is available in navy or a fiery red-orange color.  The strategic and interesting seaming elevate this dress from simple maxi to a a beautiful, structured showpiece.  Size 14-24
Eloquii Studio Cutout Scuba Gown
Available in sizes small to 4X, I would wear this one from Rebdolls as resort wear, or if I was feeling especially daring, for a fashion event or special night out with the man.
Rebdolls Grisel "Lost in Paradise" Gown
For when I'm feeling a little less daring, this white crochet-trimmed gauzy dress from Forever 21 is such a pretty and easy spring/summer option.  Available in sizes XL-3X.

From Target's new plus size line, Ava & Viv, this graphic striped maxi dress is one of the few winners from this otherwise (in my opinion) dull and disappointing collection.

This option from LOFT, available in regular, petite, and tall sizes, has such a gorgeous print.  The laid-back vibe is perfect for road trips, casual outings, and backyard barbecues.

What do you think?  See anything you like? Do you wear maxi dresses?  If so, do you wear them as casual wear, for dressy occasions or both?

Chambray & Skater

I hope you all had a great weekend.  It was too short for me, but aren't the weekends always?
Skirt:  The Limited
I have been looking for a chambray shirt for years.  Finding one that fit my chest without the dreaded gaping but that wasn't huge in the arms or shoulders has been an incredible challenge.
Top:  Torrid (Available here)
Booties:  Target (Available here)
Cuff:  New York & Company
I was really excited to find this one from Torrid.  It fit well in the body and through the chest.  As expected, the sleeves are too long and a little baggy.  I'm debating whether to have the sleeves hemmed.  When I can just roll up the sleeves, I'm hesitant to spend the extra money on alterations.

I added a red skater skirt and then dressed the look up a bit with a blingy necklace.

Necklace:  Eloquii
While I always think of this skirt as more of a work option, the chambray shirt gives it a more casual vibe that works well for off-duty.
Clutch:  The Limited
I did wear the skirt to work actually and snapped a quick pic of that look.
Top:  Eloquii (Available here)
Blazer:  New York & Company
Satchel: The Limited
Do you have any challenges in finding button-down tops? What are they?

Winter Bites

So, it's March and there's snow everywhere.  Not.Cool.At.All.
Dress:  Eva Mendes for New York & Company
But what are you going to do?

I decided to make the most of it and have a little fun with a few blog photos.

For today's look, I'm taking the bite out of winter with my fang clutch from Halloween.

Clutch:  ASOS
Boots:  Target
Tights:  The Limited
I'm looking forward to wearing this dress with heels or sandals for a breezy springtime look, but for now, I've paired it with printed tights and booties to stave off the chill.
Necklace:  The Limited
The web design on the necklace complements the tights, and I kept my hair easy with a low pony.
Earrings:  New York & Company
What's the weather like in your parts?  For those of you feeling the brunt of winter, how are you staying fashionable in the cold?

LBD Love

Sorry I've been out of commission for a while.  Busy days and nights at work took their toll, and I developed a cold which led to a nasty bout of bronchitis.  Got meds and starting to feel much better!

Today, I'm back with a new outfit post talking about the ubiquitous little black dress or LBD.  The LBD got its reputation as a wardrobe must-have for a good reason.  They are versatile enough to work for a variety of situations.
Dress:  eShakti (Available here)
While this dress is too short for work, it is a perfect dress for evenings as well as weekends.  Having first dressed this one up with sexy lace-up heels, for today's take, I wanted to give it a more casual spin.
Jacket: Torrid (Available here)
Booties:  Target
Wristlet:  Torrid
I paired my lace-up tunic from eShakti with a faux leather moto jacket and more casual shooties.

The weather has been so all over the place this winter.  The weekend before last, it was over 60 degrees Fahrenheit.  This past weekend it snowed.

I had planned on wearing this look for a casual dinner date with the man during that warm weekend, but as the sun started to go down, so did the temperatures, and I ended up changing my look.

In case you haven't noticed by all my recent bare leg photos, I'm ready for warm weather!!  It's actually been a pretty mild winter in my area, but I'm sooooo not a cold weather gal.

Sunglasses: Calvin Klein
I did previously wear the dress and jacket out to dinner with plum tights and booties.  I've gotten really lazy with wearing tights as of late, which means I've mostly been sticking to pants for the work week, but they're definitely a great option for still wearing your favorite skirts and dresses during the colder months!
If you're a skirt/dress wearer, do you find yourself reaching for more pants in the winter?  How do you mix up your LBDs for more wear?

For the jacket in other looks, see here, here, here, here, and here.
