Denim Week 2: Moto-Mouth

I've been wanting a flannel for the last two years, but I couldn't find one that properly fit my bust without leaving the dreaded gaps.

Finally, I found this plaid top from Wet Seal.  The fit in the bust is good (not perfect), and I love the color mix of burgundy with a hint of teal.

I became a fan of the company Wet Seal after seeing the amazing way that they lived up to their diversity statement and welcomed the awesome Karrie Brown from my hometown into their family.  I wanted to support the company, but I found the styles too "juniors" for my lifestyle and personal taste.  I decided to give their web site another look recently, and I was pleasantly surprised to find several pieces that I loved.

I wore a ton of flannel plaids during my high school grunge phase, but I hadn't worn one since.  Today, I'm not quite as into the grunge look, but I think a flannel plaid button-down is a great casual addition to my wardrobe.

The family and I were running around last weekend. It was unseasonably warm, so I was able to skip a coat.  I paired my comfy pants with easy booties and my denim moto jacket.
Boots:  Payless (old)
Would you wear a denim moto jacket?  Are you a fan of flannel plaids?

  2. Love the look Cassie! Like you, I loved flannel in high school and college. I can't decide if I'll just look frumpy and androgynous at 42 years old in a flannel shirt or not! I love your look though, the denim moto jacket gives this outfit a cool edge.
I haven't been able to comment much, but I'm checking out all your outfits and really loving them! Your blog is a nice eye candy treat for me. I also love seeing where you got everything, and the cool ways you put everything together.
Have you seen Gwynnie Bee? It's like Netflix for clothes. What do you think, from a fashionista point of view?

  3. Oh I've been looking for a flannel shirt myself, I wanted it for my last challenge on my blog but I have the same problem of finding one that fits properly. I actually just ordered last week a flannel from forever 21+ and I got a size bigger so I'm hoping it fits me right and if not i might have to try wet seal. I haven't been to the wet seal site in awhile but I think I might have to check it out. But yeah I love the colors in your plaid and the moto jacket is great! :)

  4. Your looks here would fit in quite well down here in Texas, Cassandra. At least... speaking as a native Texan. I think this is a cool outfit from top to bottom. Sweet!

  5. Oh the seafoam blouse is such a pretty color, I don't have anything in my closet that color but it's so pretty and I love how it's flowy as well. You know I would never think to pair seafoam and red together but it makes a great combination! :)
