Fall Double Feature: Sporty Chic

It's been a fun week collaborating with Irene of Petite Plus, Meow, but like all good things, it must come to an end.

Today, Irene and I close out our week on fall fashion by interpreting the sporty trend!

Jacket:  New York & Company (Similar here)
Skirt:  Target Petites (old)
I've never been a athletic girl...sports and me go together like oil and really clutzy water.

Thankfully, this season, we don't have to be good at or even enjoy sports to get in on the athletic trend!

Tank:  Target (old) (Similar here)
Sport-inspired styles were all over fall runways.  From super casual looks to chic evening outfits and everything in between, this fall we can all channel our inner Serena or Mia by adding a little sporty flair to our wardrobes.
Clutch:  The Limited
This past summer, I bought a cute pair of sneakers, and I was desperately trying to come up with a look that I liked with them.

EPIC. FAIL.

So...I decided to pair a sporty moto jacket with a bright tank and knit pencil skirt for a more dressed-up version of this trend.
Clutch:  Express
Sneakers are the IT shoe for fall.  While comfy shoes should never really go out of style, this season it's all about wearing them in unexpected ways.  I hope to come up with street chic look that I like with my sneakers soon.
Heels:  Target
I've become quite the heels gal over the last few years, but I need more casual and comfortable options for weekends and running around.  I tend to veer between my high-heel looks and grody sweats and flip flops.  I need more in-between looks that I'm not embarrassed to wear out of the house!
While I would wear my look for a movie date or more casual date night with my boo, Irene's look is decidedly more casual.

She paired sporty stripes with wedge sneakers for a cute daytime look.

    1. Thanks so much - I think I'm a little more rocker-y than sporty, but I'll take it! :-)

  2. I do like a moto jacket!

Btw your tulle skirt last night with the rocker vibe hair was pretty fantastic.

    1. Thanks so much! I love a look with a little edge and a little romance. It just feels balanced. :-)
Sorry I missed the chance to meet you - we didn't stay very long, but I'll be at most of the other Fashion Week events. Hope to officially meet you soon! :-)

  3. This is the first I'm hearing about a sporty trend for fall and I'm looking forward to getting some good ideas. I too am always on the lookout for a good weekend look. My go to outfit is usually jeans, t-shirt and sneakers and I always feel like a frump.

    1. I hope I can come up with something with sneakers - I always personally feel frumpy when I wear sneakers, but I am very in love with the idea of some comfortable weekend options, so I will have to work on it!
