Twelth Night

I took a day off from blogging, but Dress Week 4 continues tonight with a spring evening look.  With evening still cool in many parts of the world, I'd add a cute blazer or moto jacket to ward off any chill.
Dress:  H&M (Available here)
Shoes:  Target
Ring:  Purchased at local jewelry show
I love the metallic print on the dress.  The simple Grecian heels with silver accents and black and silver clutch help complete the evening look, while really letting the dress shine.
Clutch:  The Limited
Cuff:  LOFT (Similar here)
Earrings:  The Limited
Glasses:  Firmoo.com (Available here)

Fall Double Feature: Sweater Glamour

I hope you've been following my series in collaboration with Irene from Petite Plus, Meow!

We're discussing fall trends this week.  Today is officially the first day of fall, so hopefully you're starting to gear up for shorter days and cooler nights!

Sweater:  The Limited (Available here)
If you missed my post on wearing leather, you can check it out here.

When you're done reading my post, head on over to Petite Plus, Meow! or catch up with her on Facebook for all the details on how Irene is styling the trends.

Today, Irene and I are taking on the sweater trend!!

Pants:  The Limited (Similar here)
Sweaters were all over fall runways.  Oversized sweaters, capes, ponchos, cardigans...you name it, sweaters are a big trend for fall!
Shoes:  Prabal Gurung for Target
Today, I've styled my amethyst purple poncho-style sweater for a casual glam look that works for night or day.

Cuff:  Express
Floral lace-up heels and a pewter bag dress up the poncho, while black skinnies and a lace-trim tank help keep the overall look feeling streamlined.
Ring:  Earthbound Trading Company
Clutch:  c/o The Limited (old)
While I paired my sweater with trusty black, Irene gives her adorable red capelet a sophisticated spin with soft beige, tan, and ivory.  Paired with a floral dress and booties, Irene's capelet makes for a sweet and feminine fall look.

With sweaters being such a huge trend for fall, it's easier to find unique looking pieces outside of the cookie-cutter cardigans and pullovers we usually see.  You'll find plenty of basic sweaters to fill out your wardrobe, but expect to also see more interesting cuts, oversized fits, and gorgeous sweater coats.

I haven't always been a big fan of sweaters, but this fall, I'm starting to re-think this.  Now, how do I pry that capelet away from Irene? ;-)

Are you of a fan of sweaters?  Any sweater styles you plan to rock this fall and winter?

Dress Week 2: Metallic and Fringe

Hope you all had a fabulous Valentine's Day and weekend!

My honey was busy studying this week for a licensing exam, so we decided to postpone our plans for a weekend getaway for later this month.  Instead, we enjoyed a quiet Valentine's Day dinner at a new Mexican restaurant we discovered and then went shopping for household supplies.  You know what - it was so much fun!  It's so rare that we have the opportunity to do simple errands together. It may not seem like much, but just spending the alone time together was very lovely! :-)

Dress:  eloquii by The Limited (old)
Blazer:  The Limited (See here - no longer available on-line)

I'm continuing with Dress Week tonight with this fun fringe dress.  I featured a very simple styling of this dress to accommodate the sticky heat and humidity of last July during my first Dress Week here.  Now, the weather is decidedly colder, so I added a blazer with metallic lapels and high boots.

I first envisioned this outfit with crochet tights and ankle boots, but I'm so over winter and wearing tights that I opted for these boots to add the needed leg warmth (sheer or printed tights could still be added for extra warmth).  I like the length of this dress well enough with heels, but I'm thinking that it should have been shorter to wear with high boots - to give it a more evening, less business-y feel with the blazer.  What do you think?

Boots:  Payless (old)
What I love about this look is how the metallics and fringe give the outfit a little bit of a rocker edge.  And, the hot pink is just so cheerful for the winter time!
Earrings:  The Limited (old)
Bracelets:  LOFT (Not available on-line; may be available in stores)

This dress was my only purchase from eloquii - a plus-size line that was previously owned and operated by The Limited.  I'm excited to announce that eloquii is coming back very soon!!  The company is under new ownership, so no word on what the style direction of the company will now be, but it's great news for plus fashionistas!
Clutch:  The Limited (Available here)
Did you shop at eloquii?  Are you a fan of high boots?

Get Cozy

Today's outfit would be great for an easy-going evening out.
Sweater:  Forever 21+ (Available here)
Pants:  Target (old)
Shoes:  Payless (old)
The lattice back adds sex appeal and style, while the flowy sweater and pants are relaxed and comfy.
I added some fun silver and sparkly jewelry and a pewter clutch to add a little more flair to these simple pieces.

Sparkly heels complete the look.

Bag:  Target (Similar here)
Necklace:  Shoxie.com (Available here)
Ring:  The Limited (Available here)
Bracelets:  New York & Company and The Limited (Available here and no longer available)
I would wear this for a dinner date out with the man.  Sans the heels, the outfit is perfect for cozying up on the couch after dinner with some Big Bang Theory.  :-)

12 Days of Holiday: Festive for Work

Today starts my holiday fashion series.  I have twelve days of holiday looks planned.
Dress:  LOFT Petites (last year) (Similar here)
Blazer:  The Limited (Available here)

Hopefully, my outfits will give you ideas for a range of holiday events, from fabulous parties to running errands to New Year's Eve rocking.

Today's outfit is a recent attempt to incorporate a little holiday glitz and glam into a work look.  The red dress is made more festive with a velvet sparkly belt and faux leather lapel blazer.
Belt:  LOFT (Available here)
Tights:  New York & Company (Available here)
Clutch:  The Limited (Available here)
Boots:  Fergalicious by Fergie (Available here)
I think this is a perfect day-to-night look or would look great for a work holiday party.
Bangles:  LOFT (Available here and here)

How do you transition work looks for evening holiday celebrations?

Party Time! Excellent!!!

Today, we had our annual holiday party at work.

I wanted a festive look that was still work-appropriate.  That meant no cleavage, no short skirts, etc.

Blazer:  The Limited (Available here )
Pants:  The Limited (Available here)
Blouse:  The Limited (No longer available on-line, check local store for availability)
As you may know by now, I love menswear-inspired pieces, especially tuxedo looks.

I chose my velvet skinny pants with this sequined bib-front blouse and tuxedo blazer from my December Wish List.  To add more sparkle and feminine glamour, I added a shiny pewter clutch, these pretty vintage-inspired earrings, and patent leather black heels.  I also wore this fun ring because you know, what says "holiday" more than a rhinestone gecko?  ;-D
Ring:  Target (Available in stores; Similar here )
Purse:  Target (Available here)
Shoes:  Target (old)
Earrings:  Target (old)
I don't get nearly enough chances to wear sparkle, so today was fun!
Do you have any office-related holiday parties to attend?  What do you plan on wearing?
