Manic Monday: Day & Night

Lately, I have really been interested in increasing the versatility of the pieces in my wardrobe.  When I ordered the bow-front tunic from Eloquii, I was immediately drawn to the sweetness of the piece, but I knew that I would also want to add more edge to it.
Dress:  Eloquii (Available here)
So, for work recently, l lost the bow but kept the dress fully buttoned-up.  I added a polished blazer to add structure to the dress and to create a more professional feel.
Jacket:  Apt. 9 Petites (Available at Kohl's here)
I think it's important to keep a spark of your personality in your work style, so I went with floral heels with lace-up detail.  They add a little extra flair to this simple look.
Shoes:  Prabal Gurung for Target
I finished this look with a coated tweed clutch to add a bit of no-nonsense texture.
Clutch:  The Limited
While I kept things a bit more tailored and polished for work, I could easily transition this dress to evening.
Jacket:  Boohoo Plus (Available here)
Here, I loosened the collars on the dress and popped on a black moto jacket.
The floral heels and ruffle clutch keep things a little sweet, but the overall feel is more laid-back and a little sexy.
Clutch:  Hollywould for Target
I love that even though these two looks are very similar, they have different vibes and allow me to enjoy this dress for both night and day.

Wild Card Wednesday: That Versatile Skirt

This skirt is such a favorite that I excitedly keep styling it in different ways.  Today, I went for a flirty, feminine look that I would wear for an evening out, a date, or even a daytime event.
Skirt:  Lane Bryant (Available here)
Top:  Eloquii
I considered a shoe or clutch in another bright color, but I decided that I preferred the simplicity of black and white.
Shoes:  New Look Wide Fit (Available here)
The white clutch creates a nice graphic contrast.
Clutch:  NY&CO
Glasses:  Coach
I finished the look with a simple gold bangle and dangly earrings.
Earrings:  Eloquii
Bangle:  Target

Girly Details

Hope your week is treating you right!
Dress:  LOFT (Similar here)
Blazer:  eShakti
Yesterday for work, I took an already feminine fit-and-flare dress and added a pink eyelet blazer and floral lace-up heels for a look with a lot of girly flair.
Shoes:  Prabal Gurung for Target
Bracelets:  The Limited
While I love a grown-up romantic and feminine look, I usually don't like to go over-the-top girly.  This outfit strikes a good balance to me.  The shoes have just a touch of edginess, and the blazer adds structure that helps offset the bubblegum pink color.
Clutch:  Target (old)
How about you?  Do you enjoy a girly look?

True Romance

Today's black and white look features a color blocked chiffon dress with pretty pleating detail.
Dress:  The Limited (old)
Blazer:  Forever 21+ (Available here)
Belt:  The Limited
I added a cropped jacket, knotted belt, and floral lace-up heels.
Shoes:  Prabal Gurung for Target
I love that this look has a very romantic vibe.

I also really love this dress, but I have difficulty styling it.  Dresses offer limited styling options anyway, but so far, I've only paired this with black blazers and jackets.  I think the dress might work with pastels like mint or pale pink, but I still seem to reach for the black to wear with it.
Purse:  Target (old)

Mint to Be

Today, I paired this faux leather gored skirt with a mint crochet tee and beaded chainlink necklace.
Skirt:  The Limited (Available here)
Heels:  Prabal Gurung for Target (Not available on-line; available in some stores; see
here)
For work, I kept the look simple (and warm) with a classic black blazer, black mesh tights, and ankle boots.
Blazer:  The Limited (Similar here)
Tote:  New York & Company (Similar )
I debated whether to wear the cropped blazer or classic suit jacket this morning.  I opted for the longer blazer for work, but after seeing the pictures, I definitely prefer the cropped jacket with this look as the proportions work better together.

I had originally conceived of this skirt and top as part of an evening look.  Floral lace-up heels from Prabal Gurung's recent line for Target and a straw clutch help make the outfit evening-ready.
I love the fresh and modern shape of this skirtLeather is somewhat unexpectedly a major trend for spring.  Expect to see many leather and faux-leather options in stores this spring.
Earrings:  The Limited (Available here)
Necklace:  Target (Sold out on-line; may be available in some stores)
I'm also super excited about all of the mint green items popping up in stores.  It's one of my favorite colors!
Clutch:  Target (old)
Bracelets:  Express, Claire, local jewelry show
Would you wear a faux leather skirt in spring? Will you be wearing mint green this spring?
