Manic Monday: Bohemian Florals

During a recent Shop Your Closet post, I featured one of my favorite trends for fall - bomber jackets.  That post featuring a floral bomber jacket from Who What Wear x Target also incorporated another of my favorite fall trends - florals!  Today, I'm focusing on the fall floral trend with a slightly quirky mixed print look by pairing two different florals with a polka dot trench.
Trench:  Who What Wear x Target (Available here)
The subdued colors of this look give it a sophisticated feel, and the black background color of each piece keeps the mixing of multiple prints from feeling garish.
Blouse:  Who What Wear x Target (Available here)
Skirt:  Who What Wear x Target (Available here)
I finished the look with my buckled, open-toe booties and a faux croc-embossed bag.

I usually go for looks with a little more minimalist feel, but I really love this look!  Fall is all about prints and embellishment, and it's high on the details.  Sophisticated bohemian looks are having a serious moment, so if you have ever had a desire to dress like an Olsen twin (and yes, I actually have), this is the season to give it a try!

Shop Your Closet: The Bomber Jacket

Happy Sunday!!!!  For today's Shop Your Closet feature, I'm getting started with some fall trends.  Stay tuned the next few Sundays with more Shop Your Closet posts featuring my favorite trends for fall.
Skirt:  Who What Wear for Target (Available here)
Ring:  The Limited
One of the big trends for fall is bomber jackets, and I have become a big fan due to all of the different fabrications in which these jackets are now available.
Camisole:  Who What Wear for Target (Available here)
Jacket:  Who What Wear for Target (Available here)
Bomber jackets are usually associated with more casual looks, but this floral option from the Who What Wear line for Target is versatile enough to wear to work.
Clutch:  Who What Wear for Target (Available here)
This first look is a matchy-matchy option that I wore to work recently.  I love that the flowers on the skirt are somewhat smaller than the print on the jacket, creating a bit of a contrast in proportions.
Booties:  New Look Wide Fit from ASOS (Available here)
Glasses:  Valentino
For the second look, I paired my bomber with one of my favorite dresses from spring/summer, and gave it more of an autumnal feel.
Dress:  Who What Wear for Target
Boots:  New Look Wide Fit
Necklace:  Vintage

Glasses:  Coach
Satchel:  The Limited
I went casual for the last look by pairing the bomber with cuffed jeans and comfy booties.
Camisole:  Who What Wear for Target (Available here)
Jeans:  The Limited Petites
Boots:  Target (Available here)
Necklace:  Rack & Clutch Mobile Boutique (St. Louis area)
I can already tell that this bomber is going to get a TON of wear this fall, and I'm looking forward to coming up with some more styling options for this piece!

Are you a fan of bomber jackets?  How would you style this trend?

Spring In Bloom

Happy Sunday Funday!
Dress:  Target (old)
Yesterday was such a gorgeous day in Saint Louis!  The snow has mostly melted, and the sun was shining.  I can get used to this weather!

The man and I had a dinner date last night.  Inspired by the warmer weather and the hope of spring right around the corner, I chose a floral maxi and added my cognac moto jacket for warmth when the sun went down.

Ring:  Shoxie.com
The Turkish food was delicious, and it was nice to be out and about and to not be FREEZING!  Winter seriously pushes me into near-hibernation mode, and I can get very anti-social.  Spring puts so much more pep in my step!  :-)
Necklace:  Ann Taylor
Hope the weather is warming up where you are!  Doing anything fun this weekend?

Don't forget to set your clocks forward one hour!

Honorable Mentions 6

Happy Monday!

Hope you all had a great weekend and that your week is off to a fabulous start!  I am looking forward to the short work week and spending some time with my family for Thanksgiving.

Today, I'm posting some various looks from the last few months.  Some are recent, some are from late summer.  These looks never made it to the blog for various reasons.  Mostly, they didn't get their own post because they involve favorite pieces or looks worn in similar ways to previous posts.

This is real-life, and while I seem to always mix my looks up just a bit, sometimes, I just have a favorite way of wearing something and that way gets a lot of wear.

Zebra Sweater with Black

I've already featured this sweater coat with black flare legs and a black flare leg sweater here, but I really do like the simplicity and streamlined feel of pairing it with all black pieces.

For work this season, I've also paired it with black skinnies and a bow blouse and high-waist wide leg trousers and a simple camisole.

Moto Jacket with Pink, Black, & White
Here, I've styled a black moto jacket with pink and black in two different ways.  The first look is cute for a night out where you just want a fun look.  I paired the moto jacket with pink tulle and my favorite tee for a sassy look.

The second look was worn during a recent casual Friday.  Black skinny jeans a blush colored blouse are complemented by a glen plaid infinity scarf.

Floral Dress
I've shown this floral dress on the blog in a few different ways, but I've also worn it to work with open toe booties and a camel moto jacket and with all black additions.  I do wish that the tights on the all black look were a little less opaque, as I feel like the overall look was a bit too heavy.

Leather Pencil Skirt
I have talked here on the blog about how much I am loving this skirt, and it really has been getting a ton of wear!  Here, I paired it with a printed wrap top and cocoon wool jacket for work.  I love the mix of textures and shapes with this look!

There are so many creative ways to change up your wardrobe, but I find that I stick to my personal style and make only subtle changes to my looks.  Even with these small changes though, I find that mixing up my looks in these ways makes my wardrobe feel more expansive.

How do you mix things up?

Fall Double Feature: Blooms on Black

Have you been keeping up with my fall fashion series in collaboration with fellow petite curvy blogger, Irene from Petite Plus, Meow!?

Irene and I continue our Fall Double Feature today with Blooms on Black!
Dress:  LOFT Petites (Available here)
Purse:  The Limited
Black floral prints are a huge part of the dark glamour trend for fall.

I really enjoy dark florals, and today, I had fun creating a luxe bohemian look.  This dress reminds me of dresses from the 1970s.  So, I decided to play up that 70s vibe by adding a velvet blazer, fringe bag, and a felt floppy hat.

Can you believe I got this hat the summer before last...at Wal-mart...for only $1.00?!!
Blazer:  New  York & Company
Boots:  Target (Available here)
This look is definitely a little outside of my normal style, but I absolutely love it.
Hat:  Wal-Mart
Paired with opaque black tights and boots, it will work well into winter.

Belt:  Torrid
While I chose a look with a slightly bohemian vibe, Irene is more ladies-who-lunch with a sophisticated floral blouse, pearl necklace, pencil skirt and classic peep-toe pumps.

Will you be adding any dark floral pieces in your wardrobe this fall?
